Job Description

As the UK’s most innovative food packaging specialists, the Alexir Partnership continues to grow and as such is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer. The ideal candidate would be experienced in the maintenance and repair of print machinery (Komori, Bobst, Kohmann, Heiber & Schroeder etc.) although this is not essential. However some form of a maintenance/engineering background is essential, preferably both electrical and mechanical. This role would potentially suit a junior/deputy engineer looking for their next step.

 

Key Responsibilities

To provide primary engineering support to all production departments.

Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all machinery as required, and in conjunction with the teams operating each machine.

Ensure maintenance records are kept up to date and in line with Alexir’s QA team for audit purposes.

To co-ordinate with the facilities team to ensure the facilities/engineering workshop is organized as well as ensuring all components in relevant departments are clearly marked following the Health and Safety and Quality Management guidelines.

To assist the Commercial department with Engineering investigations with new projects.

To monitor and report stocks of Maintenance consumables.

To brief the Purchasing Director on engineering requirements including repairs, servicing, and machine reviews.

 

 

The Important Stuff

This is a full time role in Edenbridge Kent, based on a 0800 – 1630hrs contract. The successful candidate would need to be flexible as there will be times when it will be necessary to work outside of these hours. Due to the nature of Alexir’s 24/6 operation this could involve call-outs at night and at weekends.

Package – salary dependant on experience.
