Pulp
Alexir is proud to work in partnership with one of the world’s most advanced pulp producers. Traditionally pulp packaging is formed in a mould, and then baked in an oven which can mean variation in each product. Our ability to form and bake within the mould means we can offer our customers a superior product with less variation and a much thinner yet stronger product (reducing transport and storage costs).
Key Characteristics
Strong: Moulded pulp, when designed and manufactured can withstand many hundreds of kilograms of force; it can offer substantial protection from both sudden impacts in transit as well as general vibration.
Flexible: Moulded pulp can be printed, dyed in almost any colour and brand names and logos can be embossed into the packaging.
Cost: Due to increasing demands for EPS raw materials, pulp packaging now offers a much more cost effective and environmentally friendly solution.
Insulation: Moulded pulp is an excellent insulator and will perform as well as glass or wool in insulating your product from large variations in temperature during transit.
Environmentally Friendly: Paper pulp is one of the packaging materials with the lowest impact on our environment. It is made from recycled paper (newspapers, magazines, cartons) and its production does not generate any emissions apart from water/steam. Moulded pulp is also fully recyclable and biodegradable and uses less energy in its creation than EPS etc.
