Xerox and their digital partners are on a mission to enable brand owners, retailers and design agencies to rethink their product packaging and respond to changing consumer needs. In the packaging marketplace there is more emphasis on shortening product cycles, increasing variations and shorter run lengths.
Holding the keys to unlocking this potential is today’s digital print technologies and the companies that are embracing these.
The Alexir Partnership was the first major carton-converter in the UK to install an in-line digital solution for folding cartons with a Xerox iGen4 Press, TRESU coater, KAMA cutter and ESKO plotter. The digital press, with a thick stock capability up to 610 microns, is the first Xerox digital press with these heavier weight options to be installed in Europe.
The Xerox Marketing team, together with Alexir, TRESU, Iggesund and Antalis (both high-quality paperboard suppliers), have designed and produced a range of sixteen carton samples which will be shown at upcoming exhibitions and distributed amongst the Xerox European re-sellers. The cartons were designed specifically to relate to an array of industry sectors as well as illustrating a high level of print and production in carton-conversion.
