Pharmacare approached the Alexir Partnership to source, print and pack a compostable pouch with a re-seal strip to hold health tablets. Three of our divisions collaborated to ensure the successful completion of the project.
Pharmacare were looking for a compostable pouch with a re-seal strip to hold health tablets for their Naturopathica Vegan Life Range. The brief outlined that there would be an initial order of 100,000 units over 5 designs. All elements of the packaging had to be environmentally-friendly and deliverable within a tight deadline. It was a requirement that the packaging had to be recyclable, therefore, it was important that Alexir International sourced completely industrially compostable material, including the re-seal strip.
To ensure a successful completion of the project, three of our divisions including Alexir International, Alexir Packaging and Alexir Co-Packers were involved. Alexir International and Alexir Packaging were required to source, print and deliver 100k units of these pre-formed compostable pouches, while Alexir Co-Packers packed the health tablets into these pouches. Alexir International incurred most of the challenges as they had to find suitable material at the correct price point for the customer. The customer also wanted extremely detailed technical information which had to be outsourced to the individual material suppliers themselves. The order was placed in July and had to be fully delivered in September.
The project was delivered on time and in full as requested. All components of the pouch were compostable. Additionally, Alexir International delivered the pouches in transport outers to suit the size of the pack format.
