Newsworthy Snippets from the Alexir Team – May 2021

The month of May has been pretty disappointing weather-wise  but we have had some exciting newsworthy projects to talk about on our social media platforms.

M&S Halopack

M&S have re-designed their coated chicken range in our Halopack tray! The Halopack was the first proven hermetically-sealed board tray in the UK food market.

– It is a patented design that is fully sealable with a unique inline production system for optimal conservation of food content.

– It also has an easily detachable liner meaning the board tray and liner can be placed in separate waste streams to avoid food contamination on the tray.

We are loving this re-design and think the vibrant colours really stand out.

Whittard of Chelsea Advent Calendars

Alexir International and Whittard of Chelsea have worked together over the last few years to produce these beautiful Tea and Hot Chocolate Advent Calendars.

Alexir International source these super-premium advent calendars which contain 24 drawers, printed with various patterns to make the inside more eye-catching. Intricate gold foiling is used on the inside and outside of the box to enrich the calendars premium look.

The thick-walled outer gives the calendar rigidity and gravitas whilst providing a canvas for a premium soft-touch varnish and intricate gold foil blocking.

All the elements combine to give the product a distinctly luxury, high-end feel which stands out on the shelf.

We cannot wait to see what the 2021 Advent Calendars have in store for us.

Tea in the Moment

Recently, Alexir Digital worked with the team at ‘Tea in the Moment’ who are on a mission to reduce food waste and be kinder to the planet.

This innovative tea is made from the outer shells of cacao beans that are blended with natural, organic ingredients. The main goal is to try to extend the life of the cocoa bean because for every metric tonne of dry cocoa bean produced, there are 10 tonnes of cacao shells left over as waste.

This mission extended to their packaging with Tea in the Moment requiring all packaging to be 100% recyclable and made from sustainably sourced board.

Jenny Wren

Alexir International helped the Jenny Wren brand to source an environmentally-friendly plastic free film for their range of Fabulous Fondants.

The brand owners at Jenny Wren were keen to create a quality product that reflected the ethical and environmental considerations prevalent in today’s society. To reflect this, they created the finest quality fondants which have been made with natural plant-based flavourings and are wrapped in dark chocolate which is Fairtrade, gluten and palm oil free.

It was important that Alexir International sourced a film that helped to further the mission set out by the brand owners of Jenny Wren.

Take a look at the beautiful results below.

Sharing is Caring.
