Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect personal information when you contact us, work with us, or use our website. We use it to respond to you, deliver our services and understand how our marketing performs. We never sell your information. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time.

This policy covers The Alexir Partnership, which is made up of the following companies (together “Alexir”, “we”, “us”):

2. Information we collect

When you contact us or enquire

If you get in touch by phone, email, a website form, or at an exhibition, we collect your name, job title, company, email address, phone number and the details of your enquiry.

When you work with us

If you become a customer or supplier, we collect contact details for the people we deal with, plus the records needed to run the relationship: quotes, orders, contracts, delivery details, invoices and payment records.

When you visit our website

We collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and how you arrived at our site. With your consent, we also use analytics and advertising cookies – see section 4 and our Cookie Policy for full details.

3. How we use your information and our lawful bases

UK data protection law requires a lawful basis for everything we do with personal information. Here are ours:

4. Website analytics and advertising

We advertise on Google, Microsoft (Bing) and LinkedIn, and we use analytics to understand which of our marketing actually works. None of the tools below run until you accept the relevant cookie category through our cookie banner. Please note that enabling advertising cookies also enables analytics cookies, as advertising measurement relies on analytics data.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. With your consent to advertising cookies, we also enable Google Signals, which lets Google link visits across devices for signed-in Google users and lets us build advertising audiences based on site behaviour.

Google Ads

We use Google Ads conversion tracking to see which adverts and keywords lead to enquiries. Where you have consented, we use enhanced conversions: when you submit a form, a hashed (scrambled and unreadable) version of your email address or phone number is sent to Google so it can match the enquiry to an ad click more accurately. Google cannot reverse the hash into your original details, and we do not send your enquiry message itself.

Microsoft Advertising (Bing)

We use the Microsoft Advertising Universal Event Tracking (UET) tag to measure enquiries from Bing adverts, and, where you have consented, hashed enhanced conversions in the same way as Google above.

LinkedIn Ads

We use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure enquiries from LinkedIn adverts and to build audiences of website visitors for LinkedIn campaigns. Where you have consented, we may also share a hashed (scrambled and unreadable) version of your contact details with LinkedIn so it can match conversions to LinkedIn members and improve campaign measurement. LinkedIn acts as an independent controller of its members’ data – see LinkedIn’s privacy policy for how it uses this information.

You can withdraw consent for any of this at any time via the cookie settings link in our website footer. Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie these tools set.

5. Who we share information with

We never sell your personal information, and we do not use data brokers. We share information only with:

• Service providers that run our systems: website hosting, IT support, email and accounting software. They act on our instructions under contract.
• Advertising and analytics platforms (Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn) as described in section 4, and only with your consent.
• Professional advisers: accountants, solicitors, insurers and auditors, where needed.
• Authorities and regulators where the law requires it.

6. International transfers

Some of our providers, including Google, Microsoft and LinkedIn, may process data outside the UK, typically in the United States. Where that happens we rely on UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or International Data Transfer Agreements incorporating the UK Addendum to Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Security

We protect personal information with access controls, encryption in transit, and by limiting access to the people who need it to do their jobs. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever put your rights at risk we would notify you and the ICO as the law requires.

9. Your rights

You have the right to ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, to object to our use of it (including for marketing, where we will always stop), to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time where consent is our lawful basis.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices or the tools we use change, and the date at the top always shows the latest version.
